A couple weeks ago When you Awake took over the backyard of Historical Monument 157 for an evening to celebrate the songs of The Beach Boys and to support the Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to career musicians who are facing illness, disability, or age-related problems. The night featured performances of classic Beach Boys songs by Victoria Williams, The Chapin Sisters, Leslie Stevens of Leslie and the Badgers, Joel Jerome of Dios, Whispertown (Morgan Meyn), Red Cortez, The Tyde, Big Search (Matt Popieluch from Fool’s Gold and Foreign Born), The Dustbowl Revival, Charlyne Yi, Hi Ho Silver Oh, My Pet Saddle and our very own, The Blank Tapes, with members of The World Record and The Parson Red Heads acting as the house band. An audience recording of the night by Mark P has now been made available for download on When you Awake and features The Blank Tapes putting their take on "The Warmth Of The Sun" and "Pet Sounds".
